Built NY Lunch Tote

October 30, 2008

When design is this perfect, why brown bag it? Minimal and sleek, Built NY’s award winning lunch tote is high design at it’s best. Winner of the Gold Prize 2005 Idea Industrial Design Awards, it is the most perfect lunch tote you’ll ever own. It actually opens into a placemat-no more dollops of mustard or crumbs on your lap and it insulates food and drink separately. If 007 carried a lunch tote, this would be it. Perfect for racing yachts or high speed car chases It is the official lunch tote of the MI-6.
Customer Review: great lunch tote for kids
this is a well built, great lunch tote for kids. I bought three of them and send them daily with lunches and drinks to school. You can fit a lot into them and the separate drink slot works great for a water bottle or a milk or juice box.
Customer Review: Excellent
This tote has been wonderful for my kids to take to school. It fits all kinds of containers. I love the way it fits to what you want to put in it. Versus making the items fit in a fixed shape. This tote is so flexible. The kids love it. And they can use it as a placemat. Just an added incentive. We froze jello, put it in the tote that morning. It still kept it’s jello shape by lunch time. I love the seperate section for the drink. Thanks for coming up with the idea. It works for us. Buy from here…

StarTech CTK400LAN Professional LAN Installation Toolkit

October 27, 2008

The StarTech.com Professional LAN Installation Tool kit provides all the necessary tools to install and test RJ45 networks in a compact, handy, carrying case. Tools included are: a RJ45/11 Crimp tool, a 110/66 Impact Punch Tool, a wire stripper, several RJ45 connectors, and a RJ45 network cable tester with remote loopback plug (same as the StarTech.com REMOTETEST tester).
Customer Review: Cost is low, but quality is very good, excellent for travel
I’m a network admin who makes frequent train trips into New York City. I started a new job and was looking for a new set of networking tools. Yes, I could have gone Paladin for a much higher price, but I decided to give StarTech a shot. I was looking for a kit to crimp RJ-45, RJ-11 that came with a tester that could travel well. If you do some searching, finding this combo is not cheap. Even individually priced, the StarTech was cheaper. This kit also has a punch down tool with all the bits you need, not to mention a starter kit of RJ-45/11 ends and snagless covers to protect the prongs. If I could change one thing, I would have made the RJ-45 crimper a little stronger, but I’ve made plenty of cables, one of which I use every time I am at my home office desk, and it has been perfectly fine.

I highly recommend this product for those who need a crimper and cable tester, even more for those who do lots of traveling. Buy from here…

Howard Leight Max1 Disposable Foam Earplugs NRR33, Sold by the Box of 200 Pair

October 27, 2008

MAX 1 (NRR 33) pre-shaped foam earplugs feature a smooth outer skin for maximum user comfort. The NRR 33 rating makes the MAX the highest rated disposable earplug in the U.S. The smooth, soil-resistant skin helps prevent dirt from penetrating the surface prior to insertion. Attenuation tested in accordance with ANSI S3.19-1974. Coral color. Individually packed in poly bags, 200 pair per box.
Customer Review: Best earplugs on the market
College dorms are not known as quiet places, and sometimes when you want to get some studying done there’s a lot of distracting commotion outside. In my case, I also have a roommate who snores quite loudly. After trying some other brands of earplugs, these are definitely the most effective in terms of blocking out noise, and have the highest NR rating of any earplug, disposable or reusable.

Getting a proper seal can be a bit tricky. My process is as follows:

1. Lubricate your ear somehow, some people simply use spit, but I use lotion. Just put a tiny on your finger and rub it around the inside of your ear.
2. Roll each plug between index finger and thumb, they should compress nicely.
3. Grasp each plug by the flange and insert it pretty far into your ear. If you poke something that hurts, then pull it out a bit.
4. Continue holding the plugs in your ear until they fully expand. At this point again, if you feel any discomfort, pull it out a little.

You’ll find that some noises are louder (chewing gum, breathing, footsteps) and that some noises penetrate anyway (such as low vibrations that transmit through bone conduction) but all in all they are excellent. Even though they are “disposable” they can be used more than once; as long as you don’t have lots of earwax, you can probably use these 2-3 times or more without great detriment.

Pros:
-They work really, really well
-Cheap bulk pack

Cons:
-None!
Customer Review: they work fine
Earplugs work good, don’t have any complaints. the fit is comfortable, the little flair on end is helpfull. The noise reduction is good, seems to be what i would exspect at this rateing. I would buy them again. Thats the best thing i can say. Buy from here…
